The regulations are intended to enable the best use and fairest distribution to be made of K R Mangalam library resources.

All students should return the cards at the end of the final year and obtain a "No Dues Certificate" from the library. Similarly, the faculty and staff members who intend to leave the Institute should settle all the dues including the cards and obtain "No Dues Certificate" from the librarian.
Library card
Your library card is the key to accessing library services. It is your personal property and responsibility. You may not allow any other person to use your card. You will be held responsible for all items borrowed with your card even if they were borrowed by or on behalf of another user. Should your library card be used by anyone other than yourself to gain access to the Library, the card will be held by the Library until you claim it.
Loss of Cards- Loss of cards should be reported to the library immediately.
- Duplicate cards will be issued by Library on payment of Rs.100/- per card.
- Duplicate cards will be issued to members on giving an undertaking that they will continue to be held responsible for any loss arising from inadvertent use or misuse of the card lost.
- Books other than reference books will be issued to student for a period of 10 days. For teachers, the loan period is 30 days.
- Encyclopedias, Hand Books, Dictionaries, Periodicals and Back Volumes are only for reference.
- One renewal will be permitted if there are no reservations against these books. For renewal, books have to be presented physically to the library.
- Members, before leaving the counter, must satisfy themselves as to whether the books which they intend to borrow are in good condition and any damage/ marking should be immediately reported to the Librarian failing which the member to whom the book was issued will be held responsible.
- Books that are in special demand may be lent for such shorter period as may be necessary and books lent out may be recalled at any time, if required.
- If you fail to return library materials on completion of the course, your qualification certificate will be withheld.
- Rs.5.00 per day per book
- Rs.10.00 per day for reference book

Loss of Books
- Loss of books, if any, should be reported to the library immediately and pay the current market price of the book.
General
- All student members should produce their identity cards to security if required.
- All members shall sign in the gate register at the entrance as a token of their acceptance to adhere to the rules of the library.
- On no account, personal books, files and other articles (except a small notebook or loose sheets of papers) will be allowed inside the library. They shall be deposited at the property counter at the entrance.
- Strict silence shall be observed inside the library.
- Using Cell Phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.
- A member shall be responsible for any damage done by him/ her to the books or other properties. He/ she will be required to replace the book or other properties damaged or pay the fine.
- Misbehavior in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and also lead to serious disciplinary action.
- Any marking or writing inside the books by the members is strictly prohibited. If any damage/ marking is found, the member should replace the book or pay the fine.
- Neither Library nor the Institute authorities accept responsibility for the loss of any personal property left in the libraries.
- You may not leave property on chairs and tables to reserve a place in your absence. Any such property may be removed by the Library staff to make room for other readers.
- Full-time staff will be required to produce evidence of their post in the Institute, for example, employee number.
- Visiting Faculties/ Staff will be required to produce evidence of their post in the Institute, for example, a letter from Institute.
- Not withstanding anything contained in these rules, the decision of the authorities of this institution in all matters shall be final and binding.
