Air Vice Marshal Rajiv Sharma, Vishisht Seva Medal, retired from the Indian Air Force after 37 years of distinguished service. He is an Electronic and Communication engineer who has vast experience of field, projects and Academic Institutions. He did his masters from IIT Kanpur.

During his service career he was head of Electronics and Communication department at Air Force Technical College at Bangalore. In 2006, first he was appointed as Pro Vice Chancellor 4 Defence Institute of advanced Technology at Pune, thereafter he was appointed as Vice Chancellor at the same University. As Vice Chancellor of the prestigious Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, beside the defence related subjects, he had introduced few Masters Programs in Hi-Tech areas and Phd Programs through distance learning.
